Mae Murakami was born and raised in Los Angeles, and grew up playing soccer and running track. Due to playing multiple sports, she was no stranger to injury or physical therapy clinics. She credits these early experiences to helping her find her career.
Her love of movement also led her to get a Pilates certification in 2012 from the Pilates Technique Certification program on her way to graduating with a DPT from California State University, Northridge.
Mae’s interests include Women’s Health and Pelvic Floor Dysfunction. In 2016 Mae also became a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) so that she could help those on their road to recovery from breast cancer, as well as anyone who needed complete decongestive therapy.
While not at the clinic, Mae can be found giving private Pilates lessons, teaching anatomy to the trainees in the Pilates Technique Certification program, playing with her dogs, or in any of the many delicious restaurants around LA! She is also a member of the LA Chinatown Firecracker Run Committee, a non-profit organization that holds an annual bike ride and run in downtown LA to bring awareness to the downtown community, with all profits going to local elementary schools and non-profit groups.
