Physical Therapy serving the Los Angeles Area

Neuro Rehabilitation

At Rehab Specialists Inc. we welcome patients who have neurological disorders.  Our experienced clinicians have over 40 years of combined experience in treating patients with neurological conditions.

We treat patients who have a history of stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury, Parkinson's Disease, Huntington's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Post-Polio Syndrome, and vestibular conditions, among others.

Evaluation Based on Functional Abilities

Our evaluation process looks at you as a unique individual. We evaluate your needs based on your functional abilities, strength, balance, and neuromuscular function.  We analyze how you walk and how you perform activities that you find challenging in your daily life. Then, you and your therapist will create a plan of care together that is geared towards reaching your specific goals.

For all of our patients we use traditional forms of physical therapy including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, functional training, and neurological re-education. We include the caregivers and family to encourage continuity of care.  We also consider any orthopedic and cognitive issues into our neurological treatment.

Virtual Reality & Body Weight Support System

Our clinic is also equipped with a state of the art virtual reality system. New research shows that virtual reality can be used to recover the function of the upper and lower extremities in patients who have had a stroke. We are also equipped with a multi-directional body weight support system that allows our neurological patients the freedom to improve their gait or balance without the fear of falling.

Lastly, we offer aquatic therapy, which provides a safe and comfortable environment where you can improve your balance and strength. We welcome your input and encourage you to find out what we have to offer.

Our goal in physical therapy always has been to get the individuals back to function as much as possible. This should help patients recreate the pattern by giving support and allowing the therapist to use neurodynamic resistance and assistance in moving the body forward
